Original typescript volume of letters loose in stiff card wrappers, n.d. [c. 1950's to 1960's], printed recto only, approx. 200 letters, in French, ink corrections & annotations, dates range from 1948 to 1963, typescript from original autograph letters. Mary Hoeck, to whom the letters are addressed, was an Englishwoman who had approached Cocteau in 1948 about translating his verse. She translated several of Cocteau's poems and plays, and he maintained a correspondence with her for the rest of his life.; 9" x 11"
