"With the writer's compliments" written across the top of the front wrappers. Pepperell was professor of philosophy in the Columbia University of New York, and one of the founders of the New Realist school of philosophy. At the twenty-third annual meeting of the Eastern Division of the American Philosophical Association, held at Brown University, Providence, R.I., in December 1923, a presidential address on "The Einstein Theory and a Possible Alternative" was delivered by Prof Montague. In this address, Montague shows himself to be a philosopher rather especially interested in physics; and he claims the advantage of having discussed certain aspects of the subject with Prof. Bergen Davis and other members of the physics department at Columbia. ; 8vo (6" x 10"); app 27 pages; Signed by Author
