Please note that this is a large item and will require extra postage.; Plain brown card folder containing 26 loose b/w plates + explanatory booklet. Each plate shows a section of road or street, with explanatory notes/history about each house or building. Folder very intact, and clean, but lightly creased in places. Plates + booklet in vg+ condition. This is a facsimile of the original panorama published ca 1845, though the drawings date from much earlier in the 19th century. Fascinating to see the still very rural nature of the district, at the very dawn of the railway age, when much of the area was disrupted by lines from Euston and Kings Cross, becoming rapidly urbanized, as graphically depicted in Dickens' Dombey and Son. A truly unique, utterly inavluable record of a vanished world. ; Landscape 4to (26" x 10"); 26 pages
